CAN YOU IMAGINE the Sherlock fandom, still sitting here on Tumblr in our 30s and 40s, fangirling over series 4?! We really would be the fandom that waited after that!

I’m already in my thirties…

Also, I don’t get the impression this would be series four, specifically. They’d probably keep making new ones for a while (hopefully at least five or six series), and then once the hype dies down a bit or the actors say they’ve had enough they’ll take a break and come back to it later.
